About

The Assist are a 4 piece indie/alternative band from Walsall. The lads have a huge passion for real music, and their honest, hard hitting lyrics speak for themselves. It’s music that anyone can identify with from their sing along anthems to their infectious guitar riffs. The Assist combine their influences of The Enemy, The Twang, The Stone Roses and the Arctic Monkeys to create their raw indie/alternative sound. The band has achieved relative success in such a short time with a headline gig at The Flapper in Birmingham and also airplay on local FM radio stations. We believe our young, ambitious personalities will stand us in good shape when it comes to progressing at each stage

The band originated from the idea of a 365 day music project; the idea was to track our progress throughout a whole year. After much discussion the band was formed on the 01/01/13. Unsigned bands today spend too much time being critical of the music around them and not enough time one their own music. We believe to be a succesful band you can't rely on one style of music and that musical depth is key.

Whereas many bands seem to be around for ever achieving little recognition, we believe our fast approach and young, ambitious personalities will stand us in good shape when it comes to progressing at each stage. our blog aims to share all our experiences both ups and downs in 365 days to recognition. Be sure to check out our first introductory blog post to get a feel for what we are about!!!
